Dr. Mark Holterman and the Important Advocacy for Regenerative Medicine

Leading surgeon and professor Dr. Mark Holterman strives to bring more attention to the cutting-edge medical treatments that are available. As a result, Holterman has played a key role in creating the Sunshine Foundation and the Alliance for the Advancement of Cellular Therapies. Dr. Mark Holterman started his education at Yale University, where he graduated with a major in biology. He continued postgraduate studies through the University of Virginia and received both his M.D. and Ph.D. from the school. Dr. Mark Holterman remained at the University of Virginia complete his residency at its Health Sciences division and also finished a fellowship at Children’s Hospital. Holterman’s specific focus is in the field of pediatric surgery.

 

Since 2011, Dr. Mark Holterman has been working at the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois as a full professor (Vitals). He spends much time serving as a pediatric surgeon at numerous children’s hospitals in the state of Illinois as well. Holterman has a keen interest in innovative medical practices that include stem cell research and the science of regenerative medicine. He is a member of multiple healthcare professional organizations.
